Washington D.C. March for LifeJanuary 22nd is the anniversary of the fateful Roe v. Wade decision that made legalized abortion a reality in this country. Each year on this date, thousands of Americans who believe that this authorized murder is an abomination gather in Washington D.C. to express their views by marching to the Capitol Building. The next annual March for Life is scheduled for Thursday, January 22nd, 2009. The Knights of Columbus take a very active role in promoting this March. In Hightstown, each year we arrange for free bus transportation for Marchers from St. Anthony's to and from our nation's capital using proceeds from our Rose Sales. Knights and their families make up a significant portion of the riders of the St. Anthony's bus as well. This year, as in the past, we will probably share a bus with a neighboring council, so seating will be limited. The fight against abortion is perhaps one of the most important political and
sociological battles that we as Catholics and Knights are engaged in today. We need
the support of every Knight if we are to be successful. If you can, take the day off
from work and joint the March. Bring your entire family. If you can't join us please
be generous during our Rose Sales to help us ensure transportation to the March. And
always remember to pray for the end to the government-approved Slaughter of the Unborn.
